The George and Harriet Korellis Scholarship Award Dinner was held on June 27th at the Korellis headquarters.
The evening was full of proud recipients and their families who were there to celebrate, support and recognize each awardee’s significant achievements. Pete Korellis, Chairman of the Board, and his wife Susan wanted to find a way to honor his parents, who founded the Korellis company, and give back to the team in a big way. So the Korellis Scholarship was born. This is the 6th year the scholarships have been bestowed, with a total of 30 recipients, 55 individual scholarships, and over $202,000 awarded.
Alexandria Gust, Commercial Administrator, is a 2-time awardee of the scholarship this year. She states, “I am so blessed to be a recipient of this scholarship and am forever thankful to the Korellis Family for helping me afford the education I need in order to pursue my passion in nursing.”
Criteria for the scholarships included academic performance, extracurricular activities, community involvement, letters of recommendation, and a personal essay about each candidate’s goals, their intentions with the scholarship, and the benefits of the award.
