The more than 60 Northwest Indiana companies that attended the 2020 NWIBRT Hard Hat Charity Golf Outing helped raise $10,000 for area nonprofits. Proceeds will be distributed this week.
The outing was a joint effort between the Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable (NWIBRT), the Northwest Indiana Building and Construction Trades Council (NWIBCTC), and the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF).
The following charities are each receiving $2,500:
- Downs Syndrome Association of Northwest Indiana
- TradeWinds Services, Inc
- Boys & Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana
- Clothing Our Children
“These organizations make incredible contributions to the communities of Northwest Indiana. This last year has been a challenging one for the nonprofit community, and NWIBRT is proud to help these recipients continue their outstanding missions,” NWIBRT Golf Committee Chairman Ted Vrehas, from Graycor.
“The 2020 golf outing was a safe, fun, and successful event. These proceeds are going to well-deserving groups that will use the funds to make NWI an even better place to live and work,” said NWIBRT Golf Committee Vice-Chairman Ryan Reithel, from IBEW #697.
The 2021 NWIBRT Hard Hat Charity Golf Outing is scheduled for September 17, 2021. For companies wishing to attend, it is advised to reserve your foursomes as early as possible because the event typically sells out each year. Most years see over 60 companies and around 250 golfers from some of the region’s leading companies including contractors, utility providers, industrial firms, engineering, and many more. The Construction Advancement Foundation is a regional construction industry trade association with over 500 affiliated contractor companies.
Northwest Indiana Building and Construction Trades Council works to promote economic development, work site safety, and apprenticeship and journey-level training.
